Sharky Extreme: Where did the idea for Infiltration come from?
Warren: Around January of 1999, Catalyst (who is a programmer on the Infiltration team) and I left a failed project for Unreal 1 called Force Recon. It had a similar outlook, but was geared more towards single player and was much more a total conversion rather than a simple modification. We started Infiltration with the idea of a simple weapons pack with maybe a game mode or two. Since that time, we've gained quite a hefty amount of experience both in the gaming industry in general and our particular skills. Our little creation is turning into a much more in-depth conversion.
Sharky Extreme: The team members' page on your website is quite a hefty list. How many people are involved in making Infiltration, and how long did it take to develop this mod?
Warren: Most of the team members are quite recent additions. As I mentioned, originally the scale for Infiltration was quite small. As it gained in popularity, the small handful of us decided we could really expand this further and create something much more exciting. To do this, we definitely needed more people, so we slowly opened things up for a few positions, taking on only a couple at a time so we could get a good feel for who we were bringing on board. The other factor is that this is a free mod. The members on this team do the work in their spare time, when they can. In order for us to reach our goals in a fairly timely manner, we need enough people to back that up. Our team feels really solid now and as the weeks progress, we'll certainly start to get into a much more efficient style.
