Proving that the love of games is a global phenomenon, a development house has popped up in the least likely of places: Slovakia. The East European developers who call themselves Cauldron are toiling away on a 3D RTS (who isn't) which already looks like it's coming along very nicely. Although little is currently known about Shocktroopers, Cauldron has made some hefty promises including hardware dependent texture quality, multiple viewing methods, realistic AI and path finding techniques for all the units, real-time lighting and interestingly enough, the use of solar powered units.
There's no question that Shocktroopers will have to fight an uphill battle in the face of suffocating competition in 1999, including the release of the most anticipated RTS, Command & Conquer 2. However, if anyone can do it, it's those East Europeans. We'll keep you updated as more info becomes available. In the meantime, enjoy these screenshots.
