Oh no! Another Star Trek game? The famous but troubled license just won’t quit. This sequel to Interplay’s Starfleet Academy, however, is a little different in putting players in the boots of the enemy. The setting for the game is just before the movie Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. The player starts as a young Klingon officer learning the ways of Klingon tactics and honor. The game features battle between fleets of ships familiar to the Star Trek fan, but also includes over thirty new ships and new weapons among the six fighting races.

The single player campaign tests gamers in twenty-five missions, and Klingon Academy includes a mission creator. At first, the player trains in a simulated war, but eventually joins leader General Chang to fight real battles. Other features include a gunnery chair where you control weapons while another crewman controls navigation, interactive terrain like nebulas that affect sensors, and the ability to command capital ships. Multiplayer missions support both deathmatch and cooperative play.
