MechWarrior 4 continues the long line of giant walking tank simulations. The latest sequel hopes to improve on the previous entry's poor AI and gameplay. MechWarrior 4 will also try to increase the power of the player by granting more strategic and tactical control options both before and during missions, while decreasing the complexity of the interface. In addition, there are to be seven new mech types available for piloting, the usual epic storyline of rivalry between the political houses of the Battletech universe, and a dynamic campaign. Microsoft is also shooting to immerse the players in the game by increasing the density of the player's surroundings, filling them with more interactive allies and enemies, destroyable buildings, vegetation, and more weather effects. Multiplayer support will offer the standard matchmaking via the MSN Gaming Zone on the Internet, plus new features like cooperative play, user hosted servers, and support for users to create their own missions.
