Omikron - The Nomad Soul is the first title from French developers Quantic Dream and is a game being molded into the Action / Adventure genre. When all is said and done, it should bare at least some resemblance to titles such as Messiah (yes there's "body jumping" here as well). Although if all goes well it won't resemble the development schedule for said game…

The game has its setting in a parallel universe within the crystal dome covering the city of Omikron. With Omikron you as the character will have complete freedom of movement on both the city streets and inside buildings. The game also features a complete 3D combat engine which the developers themselves compare to "Tekken 2", so, at any time you'll be able to jump a fellow resident of Omikron and barehanded beat the living daylight out of his (or her) rear end, for whatever reason. While of course this won't be the only way to interact with people it is indeed an appealing one…

On the technical side the game won't disappoint. With the 'by now' bog-standard smooth textured graphics the game will also feature colored lighting, real time shadows, motion captured animation and so on. In addition, the game will even sport some motion captured facial animation. Something to look forward to? We think so... The game is set to ship during the Christmas rush at the end of this year and will be shown at E3 for those attending.
