When White Wolf released the original pencil and paper role-playing product Vampire: The Masquerade, it was a massive success. Roleplaying was no longer just about butchering your way through dungeon hordes as a Barbarian, Elf or other classical fantasy character. This new roleplaying system was more about creating a detailed ongoing story with a group of friends each playing one of the characters. What was most striking about it though was that you played a vampire (as you'd imagine from the title), a blood-sucking creature of the night rather than a sword-wielding hero. White Wolf also created a number of different vampire clans and a detailed history for these vampires. Such a rich background coupled with the ongoing success of the Vampire: The Masquerade franchise would surely make for an excellent computer game. Well, newcomers Nihilistic certainly thought so. Does the computer game they've created live up to the high standards of the roleplaying game? You may well ask, and we may well have the answer.
