Worms, Worms II, Worms Armageddon, did we miss anything? Worms Armageddon is the latest installment in Team 17's Worms series. Just like its predecessors, Worms Armageddon is jam packed with little anthropomorphic worms trying to kill each other by any means available. Sounds cute? It is.

This type of game doesn't give much of a background story nor does it boast having the latest and greatest 3D graphics engine. Still the 2D engine Team 17 have cooked up for Armageddon isn't all that shabby. It renders the game in 16-bit color in resolutions from 640 x 480 up to 1024 x 768. The higher end being more suitable for faster systems and larger monitors while the lowest is set to cater for people with even the most challenged graphics hardware in their system.

Worms is all about fun, and it is actually just that! While the game offers a wide variety of "modes" that you can play, they all pale in comparison to playing this game against a couple of friends on a single computer and just kicking each other's little wormy bums. Still let's have a look at what is offered for the lonely. First off we've got a bunch of training missions for you, we're talking hit-that-target-with-this-weapon kinda stuff. Then we have "missions", this is where you get a chance to play commando, worm style. Kill em all, a sniper mission perhaps, or retrieve some important artifacts. And last but not least we've got death match, this is the mode that's the closest to what you'll be doing when playing against your friends, and this also marks the spot where we'll get a little deeper into the mechanics of gameplay.
