Wrath is a 3D action/adventure game currently being developed by Future-Primitive Inc. Players will be pitted in a hero's shoes (Cud Savage), in the midst of an action/adventure type story, featuring some 50 missions, which will be undertaken within 10 seamless acts. In a cross between Quake and Tomb Raider, the game play itself will be depicted via 360-degree rotational third-person character play (with a first person option also).
The game engine being used for Wrath features a custom-built, real-time 3D rendering engine designed specifically for 3D cards that support the OpenGL API. The advanced feature set includes, Portal and Sector implementation, multipass rendering for visual effects with light/dark maps (thus Voodoo2 and/or TNT owners should be able to take advantage of their particular hardware) and fully dynamic alterable environments allowing the player to destroy not only everything that moves but also objects that don't necessarily do so. As is almost the norm these days, you can expect to see colored lighting, light/dark maps, dynamic lighting/shadows/shading, lens flare, 3D fog effects, transparency and translucency in objects, and all in the splendor of 24-bit true-color.
Future-Primitive's 3D engine isn't just capable of rendering pretty scenes; it's also versatile enough to allow the player to drive some 25 different types of vehicles. Thus, walking/running around on foot 'Tomb Raider' style will only be one element as driving ATV's, 4WD's, motorcycles, cars, trucks, tractors, and tanks should add some much-needed flair to the already tired genre. With over 30 different types of enemies all featuring Future-Primitive's enhanced AI features, Wrath could well stand up firm against the likes of Tomb Raider III et. al. Unlike Tomb Raider though, when the final game ships at the end of the year, it will feature multiplayer modes enabling players to select any of the characters within the game for deathmatch purposes.
